HAHPERD?

HAHPERD is a volunteer, non-profit, professional organization that promotes and advocates for professionals in the areas of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. HAHPERD works collaboratively with other organizations to promote and advocate for healthy and active lifestyles for all people.

Learn more about teaching large beginner groups using unconventional and limited spaces at this workshop. It will be held on Saturday, November 28th from 9-12:00 at Punahou Tennis Courts. This workshop is open to physical educators, park directors, collegiate players, coaches, players, afterschool providers, junior team parents/volunteer coaches and assistants.

GEOMAT and SPARK Workshops

Are you interested in finding out more about the GEOMAT and SPARK programs? GEOMAT will be held on Monday, October 19th, and SPARK will be held on Tuesday, November 17th. Both workshops will be held at Jarrett Middle School from 3:00-6:30 pm. Dr. JoAnne Owens-Nauslar will be presenting the GeoFitness workshop.

11/06/09 Update for the SPARK Workshop....This workshop is set to go on November 17th. The trainer will be BJ Williston who co-authored many of the SPARK units. The workshop will be geared towards the range K-8. As with the Geo workshop, the pubic is invited to attend to audit the workshop. If space allows, a limited number of auditors may be allowed to participate.

Easter Seals Hawaii is proud to present a workshop on February 312, 2010 from 1:00-3:00 pm.

HAHPERD once again will be hosting a booth along with the Hawaii Tennis Association at this annual event which will be held at State Capitol and surrounding areas on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Volunteers are needed to help "man" the booth. Contact President Lynn Tagami (lytagami@ksbe.edu) if you would like to help out. Spearheading this activity were chairperson Queenie Loo, HSTA Sheila Kurosu, President Lynn Tagami, and Past President Donna Chun.

2009 CHAMPION SERVE Workshop

USTA Hawaii Pacific is sponsoring this Champion Serve workshop on Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4, 2009. This is "A Community Tennis Development Workshop" to Build Healthier Communities Through Tennis. One of the events include the Children and Youth Day at the Hawaii State Capitol on Sunday, October 4th. Besides Youth Day, it includes a QuickStart Workshop for the Recreation Coach, Tennis Organizer 101, and more. Click below for more information.
